It will take a few days before this blog is fully up and running.
I have created it to track my money saving and purging progress.
I have jumped on board the MommySavers.com “Forget About the Joneses” challenge. It is designed to help women (moms especially) take control of their family finances, and feel liberated by the money they save. I’m in. It starts with a 21 day spending freeze. On MommySavers.com, they will be listing 100 ways to help yourself along.
I am writing a story on MommySavers founder, Kimberly Danger. The story will be posted on www.ExtraordinaryMommy.com. It was Kim who inspired me to take part in the “Forget About the Joneses. I will keep track of my progress here.
I am starting my spending freeze this Friday, the 5th of April. Why wait until Friday, you ask? Because of all of the leg work I am putting into this project. I would like the article, my spending freeze and the blog to coincide.
Here’s the process for me so far: (according to www.MommySavers.com)
Step #1 – Get a notebook. Done. I’m on it.
Step #2 – 21 day spending freeze (it takes about 21 days to make something a habit)
Step #3 – Question the difference between Wants and Needs. This is going to take some work.
Step # 4 – Create an ‘Approved Spending’ List
I think these first steps all go together. My next blog will have a breakdown of how I plan to tackle these beginning steps.
You go girl! I’m anxious to hear how this little project goes — I am reluctant to join you, but I guess it couldn’t hurt?!
